About Us Rahab started in November 2005 – a group of volunteers representing a Christian social action agencies and churches. Faith Christian Group (FCG) facilitated most of Rahab’s activities until their resources were sorely stretched. The Rahab Project came under the umbrella of the Mustard Tree Foundation (MTF) in 2007 and benefits from their experience, training, support and charitable status. We continue to remain accountable to both the MTF Trustees and the Rahab Steering Group, providing regular updates to those who have supported us. ETHOS Our ethos is integral to how we work. Compassion motivates us, and we seek to serve to the best of our ability, recognising the inherent value of each individual we encounter. The Rahab Project does not exist to ‘fix’ people, we are instead here to serve and support. A listening ear, open heart and well-placed question are often more productive than coming with ‘all the answers’. By offering befriending and support we seek to show options, and increase an individual’s capability to make positive decisions for themselves. Rahab came from different people from different churches with different expertise and experience; but all of us came with the same heart: to show compassion and understanding to a people who are often marginalised and misunderstood by society. Jesus showed this humility and conviction throughout His life, and we continue to be inspired and invigorated by His example and message. |
