Rahab Project volunteers run weekly street-based Night Outreach in West Reading distributing packs (including contraception, sanitary products, alarms etc) and drinks. Through starting up ordinary conversations we get to know people that we meet, and offer further support, both practical and emotional. Our aim is to meet people where they’re at. Many agencies are not able to offer Outreach, and their open hours aren’t necessarily easy to access for someone who is working at night.
Night Outreach Teams are led by a trained Team Leader (always female) and at least one other volunteer (can be male or female). All Night Outreach volunteers are interviewed, CRB checked, referenced and trained.
